Spring Lake Village Marks 40 Years in Sonoma County
October 14, 2026
SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Spring Lake Village, a Front Porch senior living community in Santa Rosa, is marking its 40th anniversary, recognizing four decades of providing housing, services and continuing care to older adults in Sonoma County.
The life plan community welcomed its first residents Aug. 6, 1986, following a decade-long grassroots effort by community groups in Sonoma and Santa Rosa to establish a senior living community offering multiple levels of care.
Toni Eslick, now senior director of human resources at Front Porch Communities and Services, joined Spring Lake Village in 1984, two years before it opened. She initially worked with prospective residents during the sales process as the community was being developed and has witnessed its growth over the past four decades.
“Spring Lake Village has changed in so many ways over the years, but the spirit of the community has always stayed the same,” Eslick said.
To commemorate the anniversary, Spring Lake Village created a “Scrapbook in Time” display in its Village Center, highlighting the community’s history.
The community is also planning a major campus addition, known as East Grove, which is projected for completion in 2030.
Spring Lake Village is part of Front Porch, a nonprofit organization that operates retirement communities, affordable housing and community services.
