Beacon Hill Health Center Opens to General Public

November 13, 2018

LOMBARD, IL–The health center at Beacon Hill retirement community is now open to the general public. The Illinois Department of Public Health approved the move in late October, allowing the center to expand its admissions beyond Beacon Hill’s own residents and seniors using private pay insurance. The center now accepts insurance coverage from Medicare, Humana, United Health Care, BCBS, Mutual of Omaha, AARP, Tricare, AETNA and United America Insurance.

“We’re excited to open our doors to seniors across DuPage County and the surrounding areas,” said Bridgette Walshe, executive director at Beacon Hill. “This is a big step in our commitment to serving older adults. We’ve been providing a high standard of care and services for more than 29 years, and it’s an honor to have an opportunity to positively impact many more lives.”

Earning a consistent 5-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services since 2008, Beacon Hill is one of the area’s most highly rated options for care. U.S. News & World Report also recognized the community as one of the “Best Nursing Homes for 2017-18.” Services provided on-site include therapy services, fall management, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory care and more.

“Our high rating is a testament to our consistently positive outcomes,” said Walshe, who noted that DuPage County is home to more than 139,000 people who are 65 years and older—the center’s targeted demographic—according to the U.S. Census Bureau. “We’ve built valuable expertise and knowledge on the aging population during the past few decades, and are confident this new direction will be extremely beneficial to the local population.”

Beacon Hill, located at 2400 S. Finley Road in Lombard, is owned and operated by Lifespace Communities, Inc., a not-for-profit organization based in West Des Moines, Iowa. This Life Care community provides a variety of living options including residential living apartment homes. Memory care and skilled nursing suites are also available as part of the full continuum of care. Residents enjoy a full range of services and amenities including indoor heated pool, library, greenhouse and dining services.

Founded in 1976, Lifespace Communities has grown to own and operate 12 continuing care retirement communities in seven states, serving more than 4,100 residents and employing more than 2,600 team members.
