Ben Young Appointed Executive Director of The Watermark at the Pearl

PORTLAND, Ore. — Watermark Retirement Communities has appointed Ben Young as executive director of The Watermark at the Pearl, an independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Portland’s Pearl District.
Young joins the community with more than two decades of experience as a health care administrator and senior living executive director. In his new role, he will oversee daily operations and resident services.

Before joining The Watermark at the Pearl, Young spent six years as executive director of Cogir of Glenwood in Vancouver, Wash. Earlier in his career, he oversaw administration for medical offices and nursing and rehabilitation centers throughout Washington. Young, an Oregon native, is a graduate of Oregon State University and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran.

The Watermark at the Pearl opened in 2022 and has 247 apartments, including 140 independent living apartments, 77 assisted living apartments and 20 memory care suites. Amenities include multiple dining venues, a wellness center, spa, salon and rooftop gardens. The community also offers programs, classes and excursions, along with 24/7 care and support.
Watermark Retirement Communities, based in Tucson, Ariz., manages senior living communities across the United States. The company says it has more than 35 years of experience in the senior living sector.
