April 30, 2025

Kenrobbins 0824DALLAS, TX — Buckner Retirement Services has announced in a press release the appointment of Ken Robbins to senior vice president. Robbins is extremely familiar with Buckner, having previously served as interim president for the faith-based nonprofit senior living provider in 2024.

As senior vice president, Robbins leads Buckner Retirement Services and its seven senior living communities in Texas. He will report to Jeff Gentry, EVP/COO for Buckner International, which operates Buckner Retirement Services.

“Ken made a lasting impression on me when he led Buckner Retirement Services on an interim basis last year,” said Gentry. “He was well respected by everyone he worked with across our organization, from the executive directors running our communities to our hospitality and sales teams. I’m excited to welcome Ken back in a fulltime capacity and to work with him as we carry out our mission to serve seniors.”

Robbins brings with him more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit, faith-based senior living communities. He most recently served as the president and founder of Scott Senior Services, LLC, where he operated a consulting company specializing in development assistance, strategic planning, and operational support.

Most of Robbins’ career was spent working for Trinity Senior Living Communities in Michigan from 1998 until 2016, starting as a regional director and retiring as president/CEO.

“From the moment I started working with Buckner last year, I felt deeply connected to the mission and legacy of service,” said Robbins. “I believe in the future direction of Buckner and see a strong, unwavering governance and leadership across the organization that serves as a North Star for all who serve here.

“Much of my career has been spent working with faith-based senior care providers,” Robbins added. “My immediate goal is to leverage that experience to bring knowledge, empathy, and support to the associates who work at our senior living communities and the people who call them home.”

Robbins takes over leadership of Buckner Retirement Services from Brian Robbins, no relation, who resigned to return to his previous role as COO of Lifespace Communities, Inc.

Founded in 1879 in Dallas, Buckner Retirement Services is a nonprofit senior living provider in Texas dedicated to inspiring happiness and promoting an active, healthy lifestyle. BRS is part of nonprofit Buckner International, a faith-based ministry serving more than 350,000 people each year in Texas and six countries worldwide.
