Christian Village Communities’ Monroe to Retire as President/CEO
July 25, 2024
MASON, OH — Christian Village Communities has announced in a press release that Larry Dean Monroe will retire from his role as president/CEO on December 27, 2024, following 12 years with the organization. Vickie Brashear, who has served as CVC’s chief financial officer for 10 years, will succeed Monroe as president/CEO.
“Twelve years ago, I was privileged to join CVC, and it has been my honor to lead the advancement [of] the organization’s mission,” Monroe said. “Through God’s blessing, and the hard work of an amazing team of leaders it has been my privilege to work alongside, CVC is financially strong and well positioned for sustainability and growth.”
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Larry for his unwavering commitment and outstanding, dedicated service to Christian Village Communities and its affiliates,” said Harry Snyder, Chair of the CVC Board of Directors. “Under his leadership, CVC experienced a period of unprecedented outcomes. These achievements, plus his focus on developing leaders within the organization, positions CVC for continued success in the years to come. We are extremely grateful for Larry’s many contributions and look forward to continuing to work with him throughout the CEO transition process.”
During his tenure Monroe served with distinction, driving significant innovation and accomplishment throughout the organization, including record-setting financial outcomes. There have been significant capital investments made in support of CVC’s two life plan communities, including the construction of the 300-seat Stone Center Worship and Performing Arts Auditorium at CVC’s Mason, Ohio, location. On July 3, 2024, the organization broke ground on Sunrise Vista, a 10-acre, $17 million independent-living expansion at the Mason location consisting of 12 single-family homes, 12 duplex homes, and a 4,000-square-foot clubhouse.
In 2023 CVC launched Christian Village Hospice, about which Monroe shared, “Reflecting upon our care continuum of independent living, assisted living, nursing, memory care, and rehab care, it became obvious that we lacked one final, critical component, providing end-of-life care for our residents and patients. Not only does this complete our continuum of care, CVH has had an inspirational impact on the families we serve and our nursing staff.”
Following his retirement as CEO, Monroe will continue to serve CVC throughout 2025 in an independent role to assist with specific initiatives and assist the new CEO as requested.
Founded in 1960 as The Christian Benevolent Association of Greater Cincinnati, Inc., Christian Village Communities has grown into a provider of Christian senior-living and health services. CVC has over 400 team members serving over 700 residents in its two life plan communities, The Christian Village at Mason and The Christian Village at Mt. Healthy. The mission of CVC is to guide older adults to joyful and purposeful life experiences in a faith-filled community.
