John McEntee Joins Enso Village as Facilities Director

HEALDSBURG, CA — Enso Village, a still-under-construction, Zen-inspired senior living community developed by The Kendal Corporation and the San Francisco Zen Center, has announced John McEntee as Facilities Director. He will oversee a team that maintains the Enso Village community, including residents’ homes and the grounds. McEntee will oversee long range capital planning for the community, the maintenance, installation, upkeep, and repair for all physical building and grounds areas, and manage and develop maintenance and housekeeping teams.

“John brings a proven history of strengthening facility function through team building and operations development,” shared Pamela Coleman, Vice President of People and Culture at Enso Village.

“I have a passion for delivering services and results that go beyond an organization’s expectation,” McEntee said. “I’m excited to bring my skillset in facilities management and technical services to Enso Village.”

McEntee brings over 15 years of experience in facilities and maintenance operations, along with 30-plus years of experience as a licensed California contractor in construction and remodeling. Before joining Enso Village, he was the Director of Facilities with a homelessness advocacy organization in Petaluma, CA. He is a Certified Facility Manager, a credential issued by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).


Enso Village is a life plan community currently under construction in Healdsburg (70 miles north of San Francisco), with a focus on mindful aging, the joys of nature, environmental stewardship, and healthy life choices for adults 60+. This approach incorporates mindfulness practice, compassionate action, and memento-moment awareness while in relationship with those being cared for. It is rooted in Buddhist practices of meditation and contemplation. At Enso Village, all medical and caregiving staff have been trained in the practice of contemplative care.

Founded on Quaker principles and guided by its values and practices, Kendal’s operating affiliates provide independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation care in New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

Enso Village will open in the fall of 2023.
