New Senior Living Community to Meet the Needs of Colorado Springs’ Growing Senior Population

February 21, 2020

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO–Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, Inc. (PMMA), a not-for-profit senior living organization, is seeing an increased interest in Colorado Springs’ newest senior living community, Aberdeen Ridge.

The 15-acre site will be located at 2744 Grand Vista Circle in Colorado Springs. Plans for Aberdeen Ridge were announced in 2019. The community will provide 171 independent living residences, as well as 40 assisted living and 24 memory care apartments on the campus. Complementing the residences are a range of amenities to bring an exciting lifestyle option to the Colorado Springs market.

“We’re proud to bring this incredible new lifestyle option to seniors in the Colorado Springs area. This community will celebrate their social energy, and their intellectual spirit, all in a beautiful and engaging atmosphere,” said Bruce Shogren, president and CEO of PMMA. “This new community represents our commitment to providing the best care and living options for El Paso County seniors.”

Recent Census Bureau reports show more than 57,000 Colorado Springs residents are already 65 years or older, and that number is expected to grow by 11% over the course of the next 10 years as more and more Baby Boomers reach their senior years. The Aberdeen Ridge project will enhance the active senior lifestyle for the rising senior population in the Colorado Springs area.

Aberdeen Ridge will be the first in Colorado Springs to offer estate protection through a largely refundable entrance fee. Development of the community is in the early stages, but the community has already had a growing number of seniors interested in the risk-free deposits that ensure priority selection of apartment styles and locations at the lowest prices to be offered.

“We’ve seen a growing interest in our Unique Health Care Benefit package,” said Shogren. “Seniors want the reassurance that they’ll have access to quality assisted living and memory care at a predictable monthly rate, if they ever need it.”

In addition to independent living apartments, the community will feature fine dining venues, beautiful gardens and walking trails, a fitness center, heated pool, coffee shop and a bistro, with dedicated spaces for various activities and wellness programs. Residents will also enjoy maintenance free living, housekeeping and transportation services. Because it is being developed as a well-planned senior living community, residents will have priority access to assisted living and memory support, if ever needed.

“PMMA is committed to strong resident programming to enhance residents’ lifestyles, including an environment that supports intergenerational programming,” Shogren said. “We look forward to this new community carrying on the tradition of other successful PMMA communities. It’s an exciting time for the organization to grow our mission, by serving more seniors and providing a more secure future for the residents of Aberdeen Ridge and their families.”

Aberdeen Ridge is a planned premier senior living community in the Colorado Springs market. It will offer a thoughtful blend of enviable amenities, endless hospitality and life-enriching opportunities, as well as the Unique Health Care Benefit. PMMA is a not-for-profit, faith-based organization, currently composed of 16 affiliated senior living communities and two Heart and Soul Hospices in Missouri and Kansas. PMMA has served seniors since 1949, and today serves more than 2,500 residents.
