Presbyterian Homes Names Nadim Abi-Antoun as President and CEO

November 16, 2022

SKOKIE, IL—Presbyterian Homes, a preeminent life plan community that serves 1,400 residents at its locations in Evanston, Lake Forest and Arlington Heights, IL, said earlier this week that Nadim Abi-Antoun has been named as its new president and chief executive officer, effective January 1st, 2023.

Abi-Antoun has been Presbyterian Homes’ chief operations officer since 2015. He succeeds Todd Swortzel, who previously announced his retirement. Swortzel will now serve as an executive advisor to Presbyterian Homes.

“We would like to thank Todd for his 12 years of leadership building our reputation, strengthening our operational and financial foundation and preparing Presbyterian Homes for future generations,” said board chair Paula Noble.

Abi-Antoun was selected after a nationwide search that began last summer. A search for a new chief operating officer will begin after the first of the year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nadim as our new CEO. He is an excellent choice for this leadership position. He has been an integral part of our growth and success over the last decade, and he has deep knowledge of all aspects of the senior living and health care business,” Noble added. “Beyond that, Nadim has proven himself to be a collaborative, ethical and forward-looking executive, earning the respect of all our stakeholders. We are confident that with Nadim’s strategic acumen and track record of strong operating skills, he is well prepared to move seamlessly into his new role.”

Abi-Antoun began his career in senior living in 2001 when he joined CJE SeniorLife as director of information technology. He joined Presbyterian Homes in 2011, first as vice president of information technology, and then becoming COO four years later. He is a graduate of the American University of Beirut with a bachelor’s in business administration, and he earned an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He is chair-elect of the LeadingAge IL Board, and is a co-founder and board member of Brightside, a pediatric cancer research foundation.

“It’s tremendously flattering to be chosen by the board to lead the organization that has been my professional home since 2011. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for Presbyterian Homes, and I look forward to expanding our mission and vision in this intensely important and rapidly changing industry,” Abi-Antoun said. “We have a terrific team, a sterling reputation [and] outstanding residents, and we are ready to address future challenges.”
