Retirement Unlimited, Inc. Promotes Thompson, Names Three to VPO

ROANOKE, VA — With its recent growth (six new communities since the beginning of 2023, with three more in development), Retirement Unlimited, Inc. (RUI) has enhanced and added to its operations team by promoting Michele Thompson to Chief Operations Officer, while concurrently promoting Amanda Brooks and Jamie Houston to Vice President of Operations, and hiring Jennifer Mohler as Vice President of Operations.
Thompson has over 18 years of experience in the field of senior living, most recently as Regional Vice President of Operations for RUI. She engaged her passion for serving seniors while working with dementia care residents.
Brooks has been with RUI since 2018 as an Executive Director at the Aarondale community. Along with her promotion to Vice President of Operations, she is the acting Interim Executive Director at RUI’s Paul Spring community.
Houston joined RUI in 2017, serving most recently as Senior Executive Director; she has more than 20 years of experience in both senior living and healthcare management.
Mohler comes to RUI with 10-plus years of experience driving growth for independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities. In her new position, she will be providing operational oversight of nine RUI communities in Virginia and Florida, including one of the most recent acquisitions, Elancé at Boynton Beach, part of RUI’s Elancé luxury brand.
For more than 40 years RUI has been owned and operated by the Virginia families of Fralin and Waldron. RUI currently has 26 senior living communities throughout Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina, with several active development projects. Their communities offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care (Inspiritás), as well as a full spectrum of life enrichment programs.
