Stonebridgecreek Holidaytrain 1 1124PLEASANTON, CA — A group of seniors involved in the Stoneridge Creek train club are setting up the annual holiday train display in the San Francisco Bay-area senior living community’s lobby. This year’s design will include a four-train layout and an improved bell setup for a trolly clapper to ring Joy To The World. Resident and the community’s train club designer Ron Hare has also modified a Disney monorail to be compatible with the train controls. Catering to intergenerational connections, this is a favorite for the grandchildren and residents alike.

Stonebridgecreek Holidaytrain 2 1124Setup was an “all hands on deck” kind of thing, according to a press release. The Stoneridge Creek team set up tables and the backdrop over the past week, and the train installation by the Stoneridge Creek decorating team of residents was expected to be completed by Thanksgiving. It will remain on display until after Christmas.

The annual holiday train display is in addition to the entire room that Stoneridge Creek residents have devoted to trains. Residents like Hare and other train club members spend hours building the trains, backdrops, and scenery.
