Lancaster Community to Become Prototype for New Kingsbury Living Communities in Ohio

LANCASTER, OH — According to a press release, this central Ohio city will become the first home for a planned statewide network of senior living communities from Kingsbury Living with the opening of Kingsbury Living-Lancaster, a new $28 million community offering independent living, assisted living and villas, and a memory care unit.
“We are thrilled to be meeting our first families here in Lancaster and looking forward to providing a level of service that will lead to Kingsbury being known as the place where Ohioans can live like royalty,” said Vince McGowen, chief operating officer for the community.
Kingsbury Living-Lancaster includes 81 assisted living apartments and 32 independent luxury villas. Daily amenities include all-day restaurant-style dining and enrichment programs for all residents. Kingsbury has community rooms that will host gatherings every day, in addition to a library, pub and bistro, fitness room and salon. The pet-friendly community also offers the security of 24-hour onsite nursing and care personalized to the individual needs of residents. It is close to area hospitals, the YMCA, shopping, dining and Lancaster’s historic district.
According to the Ohio Department of Aging, between 2020 and 2040 Ohio’s senior population is projected to grow at a rate four times that of Ohio’s general population, leading to a critical need for more senior housing options. After Lancaster, Kingsbury plans to add four more communities throughout Ohio by 2027.
The opening of Kingsbury Living-Lancaster will bring more than 25 new jobs to the area.
Kingsbury Living was founded in 2023 by Bill Lemon and Dan DeHoff of North Canton, Ohio. The president of Kingsbury Living, Andy Harpster, brings more than 25 years of operational experience to the team. Kingsbury Living-Lancaster will be operated by Traditions Management, which owns or operates 21 senior living communities and memory care in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and Florida. Kingsbury Living is staffed by experienced, professional, and caring teams from Ohio to serve Ohioans who are ready to experience the next chapters of their lives.
