The Marisol Plans 214-Unit Senior Living Community in Huntington Beach
June 8, 2026
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — The Marisol, a 214-unit senior living community with assisted living and memory care residences, is planned for Huntington Beach, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for 9:30 a.m. June 11 at 2120 Main St. in Huntington Beach.
The community will be developed by The Bluhm Family Foundation and managed by Momentum Senior Living.
According to the companies, VTBS Architects is designing the community with a modern coastal aesthetic. Located about 1.5 miles from the coast and near local parks, The Marisol will include studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom residences, with floor plans ranging up to 1,400 square feet. The leasing office is expected to open in spring 2027, with occupancy expected to begin in 2028.
The groundbreaking comes as Orange County’s aging population is expected to grow in the coming decades. According to the Census Reporter, adults age 70 and older currently represent about 14% of Huntington Beach’s population. By 2060, adults age 65 and older are projected to make up 36% of the county’s population, compared with 33% statewide, according to the Orange County Office on Aging.
“The demographic shift in Orange County makes The Marisol’s development a timely and important addition to Huntington Beach,” said Andy Bluhm, a trustee of The Bluhm Family Foundation. “As the county’s older adult population continues to grow and outpace the state’s rate, there is a clear need for high-quality, thoughtfully designed senior living communities like The Marisol.”
The community will include multiple dining venues, a coffee and snack bar, community store, wellness lounge, pool and spa, beauty salon, golf simulator, wellness gym, art studio, craft studio, community room and three courtyards. The Marisol will also be in close proximity to off-site dining, entertainment and shopping.
“Every detail of the community will reflect the coastal lifestyle local seniors are accustomed to,” said Josh Johnson, CEO of Momentum Senior Living. “Residents will discover a lifestyle built around their social, physical and emotional needs supported through the community’s compassionate care, wealth of amenities and premier location.”
Speakers at the groundbreaking ceremony are expected to include Bluhm; Mike Byrne of W.E. O’Neil; Gilbert Carrasco and Johnson of Momentum Senior Living; and Huntington Beach Mayor Casey McKeon.
