Harrison Street Reports $3.6B in Senior Housing Transactions, Expands Asset Management Team

October 14, 2026

CHICAGO — Harrison Street Asset Management reported more than $3.6 billion in senior housing transaction activity through September 2026, including acquisitions, new development projects and property sales. The firm also expanded its senior housing asset management team with three appointments to support its growing portfolio.

Harrison Street said it has completed the sale of 18 senior housing properties across nine states for a combined gross sale price of more than $1.3 billion. The firm said it also has closed or is in the process of closing $2.3 billion in senior housing acquisitions and new development projects this year.

The activity adds to Harrison Street’s long-term investment in the sector. Since inception, the firm has invested $16 billion across approximately 46,000 senior housing units and completed more than $7.3 billion in property sales involving 190 properties.

“Today’s market continues to reward high-quality assets supported by compelling demographic tailwinds and experienced operating partners,” said Ben Mohns, global head of asset management for real estate at Harrison Street.

The firm attributed its recent activity to demographic trends, senior housing operating fundamentals and continued institutional investor interest in the sector. In July, Harrison Street announced that it had closed or was in the process of closing 10 new senior housing development projects totaling more than $1.2 billion over the preceding 18 months.

Asset Management Team Expands

Alongside its transaction activity, Harrison Street appointed Jon Glass as managing director and added Michael Corsini and Hardie Jackson as senior associates. All three joined the firm from PGIM Real Estate.

Glass previously served for eight years as executive director and head of senior housing asset management at PGIM, where he oversaw asset management and strategy for its senior housing portfolio.

In his new position, Glass will help lead asset management activities across Harrison Street’s senior housing investments, including portfolio strategy, property performance, capital improvements and dispositions. He will also oversee relationships with operating partners and third-party property managers.

Brandon Metzler, managing director and head of senior housing asset management, will continue to lead the expanded team, working alongside Glass.

“The additions of Jon, Michael and Hardie reflect our continued commitment to investing in exceptional talent as we expand our senior housing platform,” Mohns said. “They bring an exceptional track record of managing institutional-quality senior housing portfolios and will further strengthen our asset management capabilities at a time when the sector is benefiting from compelling demographic tailwinds and growing investor interest.”

With the appointments, Harrison Street’s asset management team has grown to nearly 70 professionals across North America.

Harrison Street Asset Management is a global alternative investment management firm with approximately $110 billion in assets under management across real estate, infrastructure and credit strategies. The firm describes itself as the largest private owner of senior housing in the United States.
