Avamere Family of Companies Assumes Management of Four Senior-Focused Communities in Continued Growth of Assisted Living Operations

July 10, 2018

WILSONVILLE, OR–The Avamere Family of Companies, a leader in senior living and post-acute care services, and Chevalier International Holdings, Ltd., a publicly listed company based in Hong Kong, announced a management partnership of assisted living communities located in Oregon and Nebraska. Under the deal, Avamere assumes management of operations for each property.

“We are keenly aware of the changing demands and expectations of Baby Boomers,” says Matthew Hilty, president of Avamere Living. “They want to age in the place they call home. If they are sick or get injured, they want to recover in their home. We’ve taken strides over the past decade to pivot from a traditional skilled nursing provider to building out our continuum of services so the people we serve have choices that fit their needs. This partnership gives Avamere more opportunities to serve a population that is strongly opposed to staying in the nursing home they remember visiting their grandmother in.”

Avamere already has an established and successful working relationship with Chevalier. In 2013, Avamere helped transition a defunct hospital, owned by Chevalier, into one of Oregon’s leading assisted living and skilled nursing communities called Laurelhurst Village. The continuing care campus recently received its fourth perfect state survey in a row.

“Chevalier expects financial and operational results from this partnership and Avamere has over 25 years of experience in delivering the personalized, holistic care and senior living experiences that will generate those results,” says Ryan Haller, vice president of growth and development for Avamere. “You can look at the results we’ve already produced not just for Chevalier, but for the people who receive care and live at Laurelhurst Village to see why this management partnership makes a lot of sense.”

Services provided at each location under the partnership include assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, restaurant-style dining, life enrichment programs, private residences, and scheduled transportation. Although this is Avamere’s first building in Nebraska, Infinity Rehab—Avamere’s post-acute contract therapy company—has over 30 active contracts throughout the state.

This marks a second such management expansion for Avamere in less than a year after inking a similar deal with Colony NorthStar Healthcare Income, Inc. at the beginning of 2018 where Avamere assumed management of five assisted living communities. Avamere now operates 57 independent living, assisted living, Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, skilled nursing and transitional care communities across five states.

The management partnership covers the following properties:

  • Avamere at Lexington (Lexington, NE)
  • Avamere at Park Place (Tigard, OR)
  • Avamere at Hermiston (Hermiston, OR)
  • Avamere at Chestnut Lane (Gresham, OR)
