NEW YORK–BHI, a full-service commercial bank, announced that it has appointed Andrea S. Kantor Head of Healthcare and Not-For-Profit.

Kantor will oversee a team of specialized professionals delivering financing and banking solutions to BHI clients in the senior housing sector, as well as lead the practice in expanding to other healthcare related areas. She will also develop BHI’s line of business targeting not-for-profit clients such as those within the social service organizations, schools, cultural institutions and charities sectors.

With Kantor’s appointment, BHI will build its healthcare practice beyond senior housing, according to Steven Caligor, BHI Division Executive who oversees the Healthcare & Not-For-Profit, Commercial Real Estate, Corporate Banking and Investment Services divisions.

“Andrea will undertake strategic growth initiatives in both healthcare and in launching our new Not-For-Profit division. BHI’s healthcare platform is well-established with its focus on senior housing. Andrea’s key objective will be expanding the team’s activities into new areas of finance, such as ABL loans, as well as new client sectors including social services, hospitals, vendor programs and large medical practices,” Caligor said.

Kantor has more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry, including over 10 years in leadership roles focusing on healthcare and not-for-profit clients, and she has worked closely with senior management on philanthropic priorities. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Group Head for Healthcare, Education and Not-For-Profit Banking at IDB Bank.  She also held the position of Area Manager for Government and Not-For-Profit Business Banking and led the Healthcare and Not-For-Profit Credit Team at JP Morgan Chase.

Kantor earned a BA in Economics from Tufts University. A lifelong community volunteer, she serves on the board of trustees of The Community Synagogue as well as on committees for the Long Island Imagine Awards and the NYC Imagine Awards. She is an active member of the Financial Women’s Association of New York.
