October 13, 2023
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charter Senior Living of Charlotte has announced its partnership with Monin Gourmet Flavorings to introduce The Drink Bar, a new resident programming initiative tailored to the Charlotte community. According to a press release, The Drink Bar goes beyond traditional offerings, enhancing the lives of residents through hydration and mixology experiences.
Dehydration is prevalent in older adults in long-term care settings, and with that in mind residents and guests of Charter Senior Living of Charlotte may now enjoy a refreshing “drink of the day” from Hydration Stations, hand-crafted by the community dining team using recipes developed by Monin.
“We are thrilled to partner with Monin to bring innovative programming and purposeful hydration to our residents,” stated Amber Dahle, CDP, the national director of memory care and resident programming at Charter Senior Living. “The Drink Bar enhances the resident experience by providing truly engaging living opportunities and supporting their overall health.”
At Charter Senior Living of Charlotte, The Drink Bar is tailored to various levels of care — assisted living and memory care included. This new initiative offers a blend of hydration and mixology. For memory care residents, for instance, the program includes a mixology element and Hydration Stations. These elements not only encourage hydration but also nurture residents’ habits, skills, and passions. Memory-care residents can craft their own beverages using a rotating selection of premium Monin flavorings. Additionally, they can benefit from Monin Total Immunity Boost, a liquid supplement supporting the immune system and overall health.
“At Monin, we believe in the power of flavor to create memorable experiences,” added Field Sales Marketing Manager Heather Lance. “We are honored to work with Charter Senior Living on this exciting initiative for their residents. Together, we look forward to making a positive impact on resident well-being through the Drink Bar program.”
The Drink Bar aligns with Charter Senior Living of Charlotte’s mission to empower individuals with dementia, fostering self-esteem and enabling them to lead lives filled with dignity and productivity. The program also complements Charter’s signature Flourish program, designed to enhance overall well-being and unlock the potential of memory care residents.

In 2023, the community was the ninth-highest team donor for “The Longest Day” fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, contributing more than $102,000, and its intention is to participate in this fundraiser in the future.
