Covenant Living Promotes Jay Hibbard to President as Part of Leadership Restructure

SKOKIE, Ill. — Covenant Living Communities and Services will promote Jay Hibbard to president of Covenant Living Communities effective Oct. 1 as part of a leadership restructuring intended to sharpen operational oversight and support future growth.
Hibbard, who has more than 36 years of senior living experience, has worked with Covenant Living for more than a decade and currently serves as chief growth and communication officer.
In the new role, Hibbard will serve as the organization’s chief operations executive, overseeing community performance, occupancy growth, quality outcomes, innovation and support from the central office.
David Erickson, who has served as president and CEO since June 2024, will remain CEO and focus on long-term strategy, mission advancement, organizational culture, governance and enterprise growth.
“This leadership structure reflects our commitment to positioning Covenant Living for continued success,” Erickson said. “Jay is a trusted and highly respected leader who understands our mission, our people and our communities. As we continue to evolve, this structure creates greater focus and accountability while enabling us to better support residents and employees.”
Covenant Living said the organizational model has been developed over the past year and is intended to better align leadership responsibilities across the organization.

Chicago-based Covenant Living Communities and Services is a nonprofit senior services provider serving nearly 6,000 residents at 20 retirement communities in 11 states. Its services include independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and rehabilitation.
