January 14, 2019

STAMFORD, CT–Stamford-based Benchmark Senior Living community Edgehill has named Anna Sabino, Independent Living Programming Assistant, “Service Champion of the Year.” As the youngest recipient of the service champion award at 24 years old, Sabino goes above and beyond her role as a Benchmark employee and positively influences staff and residents every day.

Sabino is responsible for managing internal administration, AV equipment for associates and residents, contracts and invoices for vendors, event coordination and photography for independent living programs and activities. She has also taken on the role of ‘in-house decorating extraordinaire’ and has been complimented multiple times on her ability to transform Edgehill’s event spaces.

“I have a passion for helping others, and it’s very fulfilling to be able to work at a place where I can make people’s lives better,” said Sabino. “I’m honored to receive this award and really believe all of my team members deserve it; we all have fun and work hard.”

Along with this prestigious award, Sabino will receive a reserved parking space and an invitation to the annual Benchmark Senior Living Gala where all service champion award winners will be recognized. This award was staff-picked by upper management; she was one of 12 nominees and ultimately the most deserving.

“Anna is a resident favorite. She is truly dedicated to using the power of human connection to transform lives,” says Mary Camilli-Bernat, program director, Edgehill. “We are proud of all that she’s accomplished in her two years at Edgehill and thankful for her commitment to this community.”

Sabino is also the Edgehill team captain for Hope in Motion fundraisers. When not working, she enjoys spending time at museums and operas, playing the violin and loves to travel. Sabino intends to continue to add value and lead by example to positively impact the Edgehill community.

Edgehill is a Type A Lifecare, all-inclusive continuing care retirement community offering a full continuum of on-site health care. Its skilled nursing unit has been recognized as a 2018 recipient of the Bronze Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.
