Fellowship Square Mesa Experiences 70 Percent Fewer Falls with Helpany’s ‘Paul’

MESA, AZ — Fellowship Square Mesa has announced in a press release a step forward in fall prevention among its residents thanks to the installation in every assisted living apartment of “Paul,” Helpany’s AI- and radar-based device. Within just two months, Fellowship Square Mesa has seen a 70 percent reduction in falls.
Helpany’s Paul has identified residents at risk by analyzing their unique motion patterns and providing real-time preventive notifications to caregivers. The Helpany technology enables caregivers to spot changes in residents’ conditions and prevents potential falls before they occur, especially during nighttime when falls were previously more common. The Helpany device functions as a 24/7 virtual caregiver assistant, significantly enhancing care capabilities and supporting monitoring for timely, effective interventions.
“Falls are a major concern for every senior community, and at Fellowship Square Mesa we aimed to pioneer effective fall prevention strategies while preserving the independence and dignity of our residents,” said Executive Director Jon Scott Williams. “With Helpany, we can identify residents at risk and assist them proactively, leading to higher resident satisfaction, fewer falls, and longer resident relationships.”
Fellowship Square Mesa chose Helpany’s AI- and radar-based technology, which mitigates falls while ensuring residents’ privacy and dignity.
“Thanks to Helpany, we not only have reduced falls by 70 percent, but have also enhanced our efficiency and effectiveness, allowing us to further elevate the quality of care we provide,” added Tawnya Christensen, assisted living director at Fellowship Square Mesa. “The technology allowed us to radically transform our fall prevention efforts, creating a safer environment for our residents, fostering a strong culture of fall prevention among staff, and reducing anxiety for family members.”
Fellowship Square Mesa reported that the 70 percent reduction in falls in two months is relative to their long-term monthly average fall rate. Moreover, nighttime falls have been completely eliminated during this period.
