Gardner Capital Announces Centerville Cottages Senior Living Community

December 11, 2015

KEARNEY, Mo., Gardner Development held a groundbreaking celebration for the construction of Centerville Cottages Senior Living Community here on Thurs., Nov. 12. The event occurred at the southeast corner of I-35 and SR-92 near Price Chopper. The ceremony honored the City of Kearney, the future senior residents of Centerville Cottages and Kearney's Senior Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Until the new development is completed in late 2016, Kearney remains in need of senior homes. Every community with a senior housing program had a waiting list for senior residents. Residents of the city wrote to the Missouri Housing Development Commission to request the Missouri affordable law income housing tax credit. The community wanted to accommodate the increase in families and make it easier for seniors to find a living facility.

Centerville Cottages will provide more living space for seniors at Kearney. The independent senior living community has 48 spacious two-bedroom rental residences. Each unit has been designed to fulfill the needs of seniors. There will be a community center that will include onsite offices that will provide central resident gatherings for indoor and outdoor social events. Centerville Cottages is a partnership among the City of Kearney, Missouri; Missouri Housing Development Commission; Alden Torch Financial Century Real Estate Services; Baron Design and Associates, LLC, Double Diamond LLC, and Gardner Capital, Inc.
