Guardian Pharmacy Services Expands in Wisconsin with Prescriptions Plus Partnership

October 4, 2018

ATLANTA–Guardian Pharmacy Services, one of the nation’s largest long-term care pharmacy companies, and Wisconsin-based Mallatt’s Homecare Pharmacy, a member of the Guardian family, are pleased to announce a new partnership with Prescriptions Plus in Milwaukee. This strategic expansion will allow Prescriptions Plus to better serve existing and new residents and further enhance Guardian’s footprint in the Midwest.

For more than 30 years, Prescriptions Plus has served thousands of residents in Southeast Wisconsin’s LTC and assisted living communities. Industry-veteran Richard Pearson, president and owner of Prescriptions Plus, is delighted to turn the reigns over to his capable management team, including Cindy Trobentar and John Perham.

Going forward Pearson will provide strategic guidance to support further growth. Mike Flint, president of Mallatt’s Homecare Pharmacy, will assume the role of president for Prescriptions Plus. In addition, all 90 Prescriptions Plus employees will continue their employment, and the company expects to hire additional staff in 2019.

“We are excited about the opportunities moving forward with this partnership in a rapidly changing LTC environment,” said Pearson. “We were looking for a partner who could help us meet the ever-increasing demands of this market while still maintaining our commitment to serve residents with care and compassion. This new relationship with Guardian will help drive future success for our business and the communities we serve.”

As part of the Guardian Pharmacy Services family, Prescriptions Plus will benefit from the company’s local-autonomy business model. This industry-unique model ensures that the local team can focus on customer service to meet the specific needs of its communities and residents, while Guardian’s Corporate Support Team assists with the day-to-day business operations, including payroll, HR, IT and more.

“With this partnership, Guardian Pharmacy Services has doubled its commitment to the Wisconsin LTC market,” said Flint. “Guardian has already helped Mallatt’s Homecare Pharmacy reach even more customers, and we are confident they will do the same for Prescriptions Plus.”

“We are proud to partner with Richard and his team and expand our presence in the Midwest market,” said Fred Burke, CEO and co-founder of Guardian Pharmacy Services. “With this new partnership and our shared passion for providing superior customer service, we can ensure residents in LTC communities throughout Wisconsin are well served.”

Founded in 2004, Guardian Pharmacy’s 35 locations now serve more than 100,000 residents throughout 23 states.
