Heritage Communities Expands with Acquisition of Orchard Pointe at Glendale

August 12, 2025

Orchardpointatglendale 0825OMAHA, NE — Heritage Communities has announced in a press release the purchase of MorningStar at Arrowhead in Glendale, Arizona. The community has been rebranded as Orchard Pointe at Glendale to align with the Orchard Pointe brand known in the southwest. This acquisition marks Heritage Communities’ fourth senior living community in Phoenix’s West Valley, continuing the organization’s strategic expansion plan across the portfolio.

The 85-unit property in Glendale provides both assisted living and memory care services under Heritage Management Services. As part of the transition, Heritage is rolling out its Montessori-based Portraits cognitive programming, the Snapshots support framework for mild cognitive impairment, and new AI-enabled fall detection technology within the memory support neighborhood — all hallmarks of the Heritage Communities care model.

“Purchasing and transitioning MorningStar at Arrowhead into Orchard Pointe at Glendale is a meaningful step forward in our organization’s expansion plan,” commented Heritage Communities President Nate Underwood. “This marks our fourth community in the region, furthering our vision to bring consistent, high-quality senior living across the country — and specifically in Arizona. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each associate and resident at this community and welcoming them to Heritage Communities.”

This acquisition aligns with Heritage’s broader third-party management growth strategy. Heritage aims to secure additional management contracts by the end of 2025 while also pursuing select development opportunities.

Heritage Communities, based in this Midwest city, manages 20 communities throughout Nebraska, Iowa, Arizona, and Texas, 17 of which are owned and operated by Heritage, with two being under management contract; one additional Nebraska location is currently in development. The company employs more than 1,000 associates and cares for more than 1,600 residents.
