WESTMINSTER, MD — Both of Lutheran Social Ministries of Maryland’s life plan communities near Baltimore, Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster and Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant in Ellicott City, were recently awarded for excellence according to a press release.

For the second time, CLV was awarded Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report and “Carroll’s Best” for the 12th consecutive year. Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant was awarded “Best of Howard” for the sixth straight year.

After evaluating nearly 15,000 nursing homes on patient and resident outcomes, U.S. News & World Report awarded CLV Best Nursing Home for its short-term rehabilitation, which includes physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

“Carroll’s Best” was awarded based on votes from Carroll County Times readers, who voted for and awarded CLV as the best in three categories: Best Retirement Community, Best Assisted Living, and Best Nursing Home. Similarly, “Best of Howard” was awarded based on votes by Howard Magazine’s readers.

“Both of our life plan communities being awarded and recognized is an honor and shows our commitment and dedication to serving older adults to give them the best service and place to call home,” stated Jeff Branch, president and CEO of LSMMD, the managing organization for CLV and LVMG.

Carroll Lutheran Village recently renovated two apartment buildings and Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant is expanding by adding a new independent living building, performing arts center/chapel, and gastro pub. LVMG is also enlarging its healthcare center and assisted living area, which will include a new memory care neighborhood.
