Medical Illumination Announces Acquisition of Vidashield Line of Air Purification Systems From American Green Technology

SAN FERNANCO, CA–Surgical and examination lighting manufacturer Medical Illumination has announced the completion of its purchase of the Vidashield product line from American Green Technology (AGT), formerly based in South Bend, IN. Medical Illumination previously partnered with AGT to provide its landmark UV24 overhead air purification system (also known as VidashieldTM in selected markets).
Medical Illumination will now be the owner and exclusive manufacturer of the patented technology that continuously provides, in occupied or unoccupied spaces, UV-treated air, shown to reduce up to 99.9% of airborne pathogens affecting humans and animals.

The UV24 Air Purification System, built within the casing of a standard-sized overhead light fixture (fluorescent or LED), provides fast, continuous UV-C air purification that reduces bacteria, viruses and fungi from treated air. It also reduces the settling of pathogens onto surfaces, while reducing odors caused by bacteria and fungi. Unlike most surface disinfection products utilizing UV-C to deactivate pathogens, the innovative, patented design is conveniently installed overhead, shielded within standard sized lighting fixtures, and can operate in any occupied space 24/7 without any risk of UV exposure to humans or animals, or taking up valuable floor or counter space.
