COLUMBUS, OH — National Church Residences has opened Brookwood Point, according to a press release. The new $27 million senior community in the Berwick neighborhood of Columbus — Ohio’s capital — offers a mix of housing options for adults ages 55 and older. Brookwood Point features 103 independent-living apartments, 68 of which are one bedroom and 35 of which are two bedrooms.

U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Ohio Senator Hearcel Craig, and Ohio Representative Dontavius Jarrells were among those who joined National Church Residences President/CEO Susan DiMickele and other organization leaders to celebrate the newest senior living community.

“I’m incredibly proud to open another community in Central Ohio that provides a secure and welcoming home for older adults,” said DiMickele. “With each new community we open, we’re ensuring more older adults have a home to age with dignity, in a neighborhood where they’ve lived for years surrounded by friends and loved ones.”

“Within these walls, some 100 residents will find not just a place to live but a place to thrive,” added Congresswoman Beatty. “This is a space designed to nurture connections, foster well-being and to inspire joy.”

Multiple floor plan options were incorporated into Brookwood Point to ensure a variety of price points and unit types. The City of Columbus provided a tax abatement which allowed the community to provide rents at various affordability levels.

“It’s a whole system working alongside housing that really makes it a home,” said Representative Jarrells as he noted that the relationship linking housing to jobs and transportation is an important step in building more impactful affordable housing across the Columbus metro area.

Amenities at Brookwood Point include chef-created culinary dining, a well-appointed community room for events, an onsite fitness center, a club room for social gatherings, a dedicated arts and crafts room, a game room, a library, year-round life enrichment activities, paid utilities (including basic cable and free campuswide wi-fi), housekeeping and linen service, patios, pocket gardens, and lush landscaping. Brookwood Point is also a pet-friendly community, and in addition to onsite parking, there’s easy access to public transportation.

Originating from a Christian commitment of service, National Church Residences provides an array of health care services and a variety of housing options to 42,000 seniors at more than 340 communities in 25 states. The nonprofit organization is driven by a vision to scale for mission impact by advancing better living for 100,000 seniors by 2030, wherever they call home. The organization also offers a variety of additional senior living options, home- and community-based services, as well as permanent supportive housing for the formerly homeless and disabled.
