National Church Residences Hires Two Chief Officers and a Vice President

COLUMBUS, OH — National Church Residences has announced Tara Aschenbrand as its new chief human resources officer; Adam Axcell as its new chief strategy and growth officer; and Paul Koehler as the organization’s vice president of information technology. All three are based in the organization’s central office in this city.

“I’m excited to welcome Adam and Tara to our executive leadership team,” said Susan DiMickele, president/CEO of National Church Residences. “Their experience, business acumen and servant leader commitment will help guide our internal and external alignment to advance better living for 100,000 seniors by 2030.”

Tara Ashenbrand

Aschenbrand most recently served as vice president and associate general counsel at OhioHealth, where she led a team supporting a workforce of 35,000 individuals across an extensive network of 15 hospitals, over 200 ambulatory sites and administrative offices. There she partnered with both human resources and operations. She is also the former president of the Ohio Women’s Bar Association.

“Joining National Church Residences is a natural extension of my focus on cultivating exceptional workplace environments throughout my career,” said Aschenbrand in a press release. “I’m delighted to share my passion and strategic vision for elevating leadership development and workplace culture to make us an employer of choice.”

Axcell most recently served as general manager of the Medicare Support Center at CVS; CVS Health has 300,000-plus colleagues, including more than 40,000 physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and nurse practitioners.

“I look forward to collaborating to continue to build National Church Residences and advance better living for seniors wherever they call home,” commented Axcell.

“Koehler’s strategic vision and leadership will bring valuable insights to the organization, fostering technological advancements that support our commitment to providing exceptional senior housing and healthcare services,” said DiMickele. “I’m delighted to have him join our team.

Prior to joining National Church Residences, Koehler served as chief information officer at Wallick Communities, a regional housing provider specializing in the development, construction, and management of multifamily affordable housing and senior living.
