New Assisted Living Apartments Coming to Covenant Living at Windsor Park
November 16, 2020
Carol Stream, Ill.: Covenant Living Communities and Services, along with Covenant Living at Windsor Park, is embarking on a $21-million capital improvement construction project designed to meet the growing need for assisted living options in DuPage County. A “virtual groundbreaking” to kick off the project will be held on November 18 with Covenant Living leadership, the Village of Carol Stream mayor, and residents from the senior living community.
The construction project will add 36 new assisted living residences and a new rehabilitation area for physical and occupational therapy. It will also include the latest HVAC system designed for air purification and improved indoor air quality.
“Our market research shows there is a growing demand in our area where families are seeking senior living health care options for their loved ones,” said Terri Cunliffe, Covenant Living president and CEO. “The addition of more assisted living apartments and a modern rehabilitation space will allow us to better serve the healthcare and rehab needs of our residents at Covenant Living at Windsor Park. It also allows us to serve more people in our area.”
In addition to new assisted living apartments, there will also be some renovations to the existing Windsor Park Manor at Covenant Living with new skilled nursing rooms and two new memory care suites.
“Covenant Living at Windsor Park has been serving the Carol Stream area for nearly 22 years and this project is just another example of our commitment to serving older adults and their families now and well into the future,” added Cunliffe. “We’re excited to bring the future of healthcare to Carol Stream.”
Construction is now underway with an anticipated complete date of December 2021. Covenant Living has partnered with Chicago-based Leopardo Construction and THW Architects from Atlanta, Georgia.
