New Health and Rehab Center Now Open at Friendship Village of Dublin

November 9, 2021

Friendship Village of Dublin, one of Central Ohio’s premier senior living communities, has recently announced its latest expansion project is complete. Alderwood Health and Rehab, a state-of-the-art health and rehab center, is now open offering both residents and rehab patients skilled nursing, transitional health care onsite and long term care.

Alderwood Health and Rehab provides post-acute, skilled nursing care for patients transitioning back to their homes or living space as well as long term care for Friendship Village of Dublin’s residents in need of more care. The health center features 36 private suites, equipped with bi-polar ionization air filtration systems and an abundance of natural light, each averaging upwards of 400 square feet—an unparalleled amount of personal living space for a skilled nursing facility. Additionally, Alderwood residents have unique access to onsite medical care with Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) physicians and nurse practitioners present at the health center five days a week.

“We are ecstatic about the additional care options that Alderwood offers our community,” said Rita Doherty, Friendship Village of Dublin’s Executive Director. “We’re committed to making the right investments in our community and Alderwood was designed for comfort, healing and hospitality—we know Alderwood will make a difference in care plans for many.”

Alderwood Health and Rehab officially opened on October 8 and features an onsite satellite office of COPC—the only skilled nursing facility in central Ohio to have one.

“Our onsite practice at Alderwood allows patients access to care providers that can make all the difference to their healing and care,” shares Dr. Don Deep, COPC Senior Medical Director of Acute Services. “Physician involvement at a facility like Alderwood is critical to delivering quality long term care or helping rehab patients transition back to their living situation prior to an injury or illness.”

With 40 years of experience, Friendship Village of Dublin is a leader in senior living and continues to adapt and expand. Friendship Village was one of the first senior living communities to get Covid vaccinations, and it provides residents with expanding high quality, cost-effective LifeCare services to help each resident find the right balance for their life and healthcare needs.

“We have room to welcome more residents to Friendship Village,” added Doherty. “We offer a safe and active community with 100 percent of our residents vaccinated for COVID-19. The vast amenities available at Friendship Village truly allow our independent residents to create the living experience that best suits them and their stage of life, with Alderwood, an amazing health and rehab center and Waterford Assisted Living option. We’re here if you need us.”
