New Silverado Memory Care Community Opens in Wisconsin

May 20, 2019

GLENDALE, WI–Today in Glendale, Wisconsin, Silverado opened a new memory care community designed specifically to maximize quality of life for as many as 85 people with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory-impairing conditions.

Already in high demand, Silverado North Shore—located at 7800 N. Green Bay Road, on the north end of Milwaukee County—is now fully open and accepting new residents under the expert leadership of Erin Gutsmiedl, Administrator.

The two-story community situated on two acres, features indoor space specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the memory impaired, as well as outside space purposefully built to give residents the freedom to enjoy the outdoors. The overall design serves to bring the Silverado experience to residents and their families, providing the individuals we serve with dignity, respect and the best quality of life possible.

“We’re proud to open our newest community in Wisconsin and invite families to see our innovative model of care, featuring our strength-based brain health program, Nexus®,” said Silverado Administrator, Erin Gutsmiedl. “Our team of skilled and compassionate caregivers are driven everyday by a desire to change the way the world cares for people with cognitive decline.”

Each Silverado community combines world-class clinical care—supported by around-the-clock licensed nurses, a 1:1 staff to resident ratio, and a designated physician medical director, in a welcoming and engaging social model environment—with industry-leading programs. Recently the company developed Nexus, an internationally recognized evidence-based brain health program. This non drug approach has been shown to improve quality of life, cognition and function for many persons in the earlier stages of living with dementia. In fact, research has shown that participants showed a 60% improvement in cognition when compared to those without such treatment.

The development teams worked with many local suppliers and businesses to create the new community, contributing to dozens of construction jobs and local spending, while creating more than 80 new healthcare jobs—once at full capacity.

A grand opening celebration is currently scheduled for Thursday, August 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
