OZ Architecture to Renovate Towers at Golden West

January 16, 2019

BOULDER, CO–Award-winning architecture and design firm OZ Architecture will design the renovations of the Towers at Golden West, three independent living and assisted living buildings in Boulder.

The renovations will refresh the three buildings, each constructed between 1965 and 1989, with updated finishes and brand-new appliances throughout. Combined, the three buildings include 254 independent living and 56 assisted living residential units. The main floor of the 100,000-square-foot Central Tower will see the biggest remodel, where offices and amenity spaces will be modernized with new materials and reorganized for better efficiency. These spaces include the kitchen, large dining room and grab-and-go café; wellness center with physical therapy components; recreation room; library; and beauty salon.

Additionally, all of the windows will be replaced in the 13-story South Tower and on the four-story Mezzanine building. A new elevator will offer improved circulation, and a brand new main entry design will replace the existing canopy.

“These renovations will provide a much-needed update that will give both residents and caregivers greater comfort and enjoyment,” said Jami Mohlenkamp, principal at OZ Architecture and head of the firm’s senior living practice area. “It has been a pleasure to work with the Towers at Golden West community to to provide them with the upgrades that will make their space more efficient and modern.”

Construction is slated to begin in early 2019.
