Pegasus Safely and Proactively Evacuates Fairfield Senior Living Community Amidst California Wildfires
August 20, 2020
Fairfield, CA – As the wildfires in California continue to increase in force, Pegasus is taking up a proactive stance with an evacuation plan to ensure the safety of its residents. Because the wildfires are primarily located and spreading in the Central and Northern parts of the state, Pegasus Senior Living and its other California communities are coming together to safely transfer all residents from its Fairfield community, The Village at Rancho Solano.
Every resident is accounted for and is either with family or living temporarily at one of two Pegasus communities that are located away from the wildfires: Greenhaven Place in Sacramento and The Oaks at Inglewood in Stockton.
The Village at Rancho Solano team and Pegasus used their commercial buses to evacuate the residents. Safety teams among associates and leadership members have been designated at Greenhaven Place and The Oaks to ensure the evacuation process goes smoothly and loved ones are in constant communication with their family members as well as receiving updates on the situation. Greenhaven Place and The Oaks went out to stores beforehand to gather necessary supplies such as air mattresses to accommodate every resident.
While the evacuation plan is in place, the Pegasus teams are practicing all necessary protocols due to COVID-19, such as wearing appropriate PPE, social distancing, wearing masks, and constant sanitizing and cleaning of common areas and residences.
