June 26, 2023

SKOKIE, IL — Presbyterian Homes is proud to announce that Shannon Gutierrez has been named Chief Operating Officer. She will provide operational oversight, including team building, development, and technology implementation, for the three life plan communities (Lake Forest Place, The Moorings of Arlington Heights, and Westminster Place) and the rental community (Ten Twenty Grove) managed by Presbyterian Homes.

Most recently the National Vice President of Operations for Anthem Memory Care, Gutierrez benefits from more than 25 years of hands-on experience in the senior living industry. Moreover, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois and she became an Illinois Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 2003.

“Shannon’s ability to create an operational environment and culture that connect everyone from staff to residents to family members is what drew us to her,” shares Presbyterian Homes President/CEO Nadim Abi-Antoun. “Her well-earned reputation for providing top-quality care and building a successful team environment will greatly benefit our organization.”

“I have been so impressed with Presbyterian Homes’ mission and philosophy of vibrant living and giving back to their seniors,” Gutierrez shared. “This organization has such a great reputation, and it was a culture and team I truly wanted to be part of.”

In her new role, Gutierrez’s priorities include ensuring the culture remains strong, working on improved communication, introducing innovative technologies, and enhancing quality of life for all residents. She will spend quite a bit of her time in the field, interacting with residents, staff, and families.

“I’m a huge believer in servant leadership,” Gutierrez emphasized. “You feel that the minute you walk in the door at all the Presbyterian Homes’ communities. Everyone you meet is so genuine, and you feel the compassion and support given to our residents. It’s an honor to do this important and meaningful work.”

Since 1904, Presbyterian Homes has been an independent, not-for-profit, faith-based family of retirement communities near Chicago, open to all seniors and staff regardless of religious affiliation. Residents have access to independent and assisted living options, rehabilitation services, memory care, and skilled nursing.
