Standing Dog Interactive Appoints Longtime Hospitality Veteran To New Vice President Role
DALLAS–Solidifying its role as a leader in the hospitality digital marketing vertical, Standing Dog Interactive has promoted a trusted senior director to vice president of hospitality.
Michael Curran, who heads the Houston office of the Dallas-based agency, will join the executive leadership team with plans to expand services being offered to hotel, restaurant and entertainment clients worldwide. The hospitality veteran will be tasked with overseeing key accounts for the agency including Omni Hotels, Salata, Aqua Hotels and Resorts, and Event Hospitality & Entertainment.
Michael Curran has been promoted to vice president of hospitality at Standing Dog Interactive, a Dallas-based digital marketing agency.
"I want to guarantee, to the best of my abilities, that our hospitality and entertainment clients have the best, most experienced staff to rely on when they need us," Curran said. "There are so many networks and ad serving platforms available that were not around just three years ago, and I can't wait to share the company's expertise on making them all work for our clients."
Curran joined Standing Dog in 2009 from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online, where he was manager of internet strategy and product development for DisneyWorld.com, Disney Meetings and Conventions, Disney Sports and Recreation, Disney Golf, The World of Disney Store, Disney Visa and Disney Theme Park Merchandise. Under his guidance, the theme park began its first social media initiative.
He's also worked for Hilton Hotels, where he met Standing Dog CEO Mike Wylie. Wylie left Hilton for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and hired Curran shortly thereafter.

The senior leadership team at Standing Dog has a combined 62-plus years of serving the hospitality industry, and Curran has been a major contributing factor to that commitment. During his tenure at the award-winning digital marketing agency, he has earned accolades from Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International for being one of the first participants to go through the organization's Hospitality Digital Marketer Program and become certified. Curran also has led projects that have netted Standing Dog multiple Adrian Awards for three consecutive years.
When away from the office, Curran enjoys spending time with his wife, Marisa, and kids Eric and Alexandra. He also loves gardening and "hopes to be around to see an end to the longest championship drought in professional sports history with the Chicago Cubs."
