Sunrise Senior Living Announces Launch of The Capstone

NEW YORK, NY — Sunrise Senior Living, a provider of personalized senior living services, has announced The Capstone Battery Park City. Formerly known as Battery Park by Sunrise, this new identity for the community is a first step in a new phase of independent senior living in Downtown Manhattan.
The announcement of The Capstone rebrand is part of a multi-phase renovation plan. Inspired by the architectural legacy of Manhattan, the renovation was conceptualized to provide maximum functionality and operational efficiency, expanding the potential of the space. This renovation has been planned to ensure minimal disruption to resident lifestyle, and The Capstone will also be welcoming new residents throughout the entire process.
The renovation is anchored by a full-scale revamp of the dining room, which serves as a centerpiece for The Capstone’s culinary offerings. The next phase focuses on a comprehensive overhaul of the common spaces (the lower level of the community including the pool, gym, salon, and doctor’s office) and it will combine the central Living Room and Club Room into one cohesive, multifunctional space, offering a gathering hub for the many community programs and events on The Capstone’s calendar. In addition to renovating the exterior and sidewalk spaces, The Capstone will also add a coffee shop.
