November 21, 2023

NORWOOD PARK, IL — The Danish Home of Chicago has announced the addition of Danielle Santore as director of nursing. With a strong background in mental health and a commitment to holistic care, Santore is poised to make a significant impact on the well-being of the residents, according to Danish Home President/CEO Scott Swanson.

“I was drawn to this field to be able to not only care for patient’s physical health but also their mental well-being so I can care for others on a more holistic scale,” Santore said in a press release.

Santore’s journey in nursing began during her high school years, and she is now pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) with the intention of becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She worked as a certified nursing assistant during nursing school, and after graduating she focused on mental health, working as a nurse and later as a charge nurse at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She also served as a house supervisor and clinical nurse manager at Northwest Community Hospital, gaining valuable experience in geriatric psychiatry.
