The Springs Living Names Tim Watson as Executive Director of New Happy Valley Community

HAPPY VALLEY, OR—Tim Watson has been appointed the executive director of The Springs at Happy Valley, a 210-unit senior living community with a modern farmhouse aesthetic that is set to open this autumn in Happy Valley, Oregon. As executive director, Watson will assemble the community team, hiring based on shared values that drive quality outcomes. He will direct all aspects of community operations, including resident experience, financial performance and culture building for the team.
“In addition to his proven leadership skills, Tim’s gracious personality and genuine warmth will help build relationships with residents and staff, which is critical to establishing our values-based culture as this community opens,” said Brenda Connelly, president of The Springs Living.
Watson most recently served as senior executive director of Dial Senior Living, where he oversaw all operations at the senior living community in Boulder, Colorado. Before establishing a career in the senior living profession, Watson served as director of choral activities at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, for 15 years—overseeing budgets, curriculum and strategic vision for the department. He also served as president of the Iowa Choral Directors Association. Watson has a Master of Arts from the University of South Dakota and a Bachelor of Arts from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
Situated on a 6.95 acre site just 10 miles southeast of Portland, The Springs at Happy Valley was designed to meet the standards of the Fitwel Certification from the Center for Active Design—it’s the first senior living community to do so from the ground up. This certification validates that the community design optimizes health and wellness for staff and residents. The Springs at Happy Valley will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care services, featuring many high-end amenities, including an indoor pool and a movie theater.
