The Springs Living Senior Executive Director Receives 2022 Leadership Excellence Award

September 22, 2022

MCMINNVILLE, OR—Earlier this week, Meaghan Walkup, senior executive director for The Springs at Anna Maria in Medford, OR, was recognized with the Leadership Excellence Award by the Oregon Health Care Association (OHCA) at its annual convention in Portland, OR. Every year, OHCA honors long-term care professionals in the state who demonstrate a commitment to quality care through their dedication to residents, staff and the long-term care/community-based care profession.

“I have the opportunity to work with many intelligent, hard-working individuals, but Meaghan stands out because she exhibits an unparalleled commitment to thoughtful collaboration and quality service,” said Regional Director of Operations Nicole Jemming of The Springs Living. “Her leadership truly creates a sense of family to her team, which creates meaningful relationships among residents and team members. These authentic, caring relationships make for a strong community.”

Walkup has led The Springs at Anna Maria as executive director for 12 years. She started at the community 17 years ago, and has served in several positions—including health care administration—before moving up to her current position. Last year, she was promoted to the role of senior executive director to share her best practices with other Springs communities.

Under Walkup’s leadership, The Springs at Anna Maria has contributed to the greater Medford community by supporting local organizations like Food & Friends, Children’s Miracle Network, The Arc of Jackson County, Medford and Ashland Senior Centers, Providence Foundation through the Festival of Trees and the Alzheimer’s Association through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

“Receiving this award is such an honor, and I believe more than anything, it represents the commitment of our entire staff and community; no one person stands alone when serving others,” Walkup said. “We have this amazing opportunity to make a difference for people every day, and we do it together.”
