June 8, 2026
STAMFORD, Conn. — Edgehill in Stamford held its second annual Edgeminster Dog Show on May 13 to raise money for Stamford Health’s Bennett Cancer Center Hope in Motion Walk.
The event featured residents and associates with 14 dogs. Judges from the Edgehill community gave awards to each participant, with categories including “Sweetest,” “Most Kissable,” “Sassiest” and “Best Dressed.”
Edgehill resident Joan Weisman said the event reflects the community’s support for local philanthropy and its pet-friendly environment.
“Organizing this event is truly a labor of love. I genuinely enjoy the work and feel fortunate to collaborate with such wonderful people. The Edgehill community is deeply committed to philanthropy and it’s rewarding to raise money to support patients who receive care here in Stamford,” Weisman said. “Edgehill’s pet-friendly environment is such a joy for the residents. Not only does this event support an important cause, but it’s also a joyful and fun experience for the entire community.”
Team Edgehill, a group of residents and associates, has supported the Bennett Cancer Center’s Hope in Motion fundraising efforts for more than 10 years. The team has raised nearly $500,000 to support cancer patients in need.
“We’re grateful to Team Edgehill, a long-standing supporter of Stamford Health’s Bennett Cancer Center, for hosting such a joyful, pet-centered event that truly brings our community together,” said Dr. Steve Lo, director of medical oncology and hematology with Stamford Health. “Events like this not only raise critical awareness and resources, but also remind us of the power of connection, compassion, and community in the healing journey.”
