NAD Review Backs Some SafelyYou AI Claims, Recommends Changes to Others

August 19, 2026

NEW YORK — The BBB National Programs’ National Advertising Division has found support for several performance claims made by SafelyYou for its AI-powered fall-detection and monitoring system used in assisted living and memory care communities, while recommending that the company modify or discontinue other claims.

NAD reviewed claims involving SafelyYou Safety AI, a predictive-care platform designed to detect falls using machine learning, video analytics and risk modeling.

Among the claims that NAD designated as “supported” were that on-site staff are alerted within seconds, that the system generates only one false alarm per sensor every two years and that SafelyYou Safety AI has reduced falls by 40% and fall-related ER visits by 80% in the senior living communities it serves.

NAD also found support for SafelyYou’s claim that falls are detected with “over 99% accuracy,” but recommended that the company modify the claim to disclose the basis for the claim, including that it was based on a single study.

The review drew a distinction between those specific performance claims and some of the advertising statements about the system’s overall benefits.

NAD found that SafelyYou’s evidence did not support the unqualified message conveyed by its claim that the technology was “proven to reduce falls, risk and costs while elevating care.” NAD recommended that SafelyYou either discontinue or modify the claim to avoid conveying that SafelyYou’s AI is “proven” to reduce falls, risk, and costs while elevating care, and to disclose the basis of support for the claim

NAD also recommended that SafelyYou discontinue its claim of providing “industry-leading capabilities and reliability,” because its review found that the company had not supplied reliable comparative evidence to support the superiority message.

SafelyYou said in a statement that it “will comply with NAD’s recommendations.”

NAD is part of BBB National Programs, an independent nonprofit industry self-regulatory organization. BBB National Programs and the Better Business Bureau network share a common history but have operated as separate, unaffiliated organizations since a 2019 restructuring of the former Council of Better Business Bureaus. The International Association of Better Business Bureaus now serves as the national organization for the BBB network, while BBB National Programs retained NAD and other industry self-regulation programs.

NAD reviews national advertising claims through its industry self-regulatory process and is not a government agency.
