SEATTLE–A Place for Mom, Inc. (APFM), the largest senior-living referral service in North America, announced that Larry Kutscher has joined the Company as chief executive officer and APFM’s Board as a director, effective immediately.

As APFM’s chief executive, Kutscher will drive the strategic vision, operations and management of the Company as it continues to build upon its position as an industry leader in providing guidance to families navigating pivotal life decisions around senior care. He succeeds Sean Kell, who has stepped down from his role as chief executive and will continue to serve as a senior advisor to the Company.

“APFM has built a differentiated technology platform with a data-driven approach for providing families with vital tools to make informed senior care decisions,” said Kutscher. “As CEO, I will focus on enhancing APFM’s strong partnerships, investing in our products and technology, and creating value for users, partners, employees and investors. I look forward to working closely with APFM’s team to capitalize on the many opportunities ahead and expand this vital service to provide better access, coordination and quality of care for the families we serve.”

Kutscher is a veteran CEO who successfully led multiple digital, technology and services businesses through significant periods of growth and value creation over the course of his more than 30-year career. Most recently, Kutscher served as CEO of TravelClick, a leading global travel technology and data provider. Under his leadership, TravelClick experienced significant growth, doubling its revenue and earnings through the creation of unique, tech-enabled products. Additionally, Kutscher oversaw five successful acquisitions and transitioned the business to a subscription model.

“Larry is a world-class executive with a long track record of building and scaling industry-defining digital businesses through a results-oriented mindset and focus on innovation,” said Anton Levy, member of the APFM Board of Directors and Managing Director and Global Head of Internet & Technology at General Atlantic, a significant shareholder of APFM. “Having experienced solid growth over the last few years, APFM is at an inflection point, with new challenges and compelling opportunities as consumer research continues to shift online and demand for high quality senior care increases. We are thrilled to have someone of Larry’s caliber to lead APFM into its next phase of growth.”

Adam Karol, member of the APFM Board of Directors and Managing Director at Silver Lake, also a significant shareholder of APFM, added, “We are excited to welcome Larry to the APFM team. After a thorough and thoughtful search, the Board of Directors agreed that Larry is the ideal person to lead APFM to the next level of performance. He is a seasoned leader, and his deep experience and operational expertise with online, tech-enabled services will enable him to maximize the potential of APFM and its powerful platform.”

Levy and Karol added, “On behalf of the Board, we are grateful for Sean’s contributions, which have helped countless families across the country find the right independent, assisted living, and memory care communities or homecare services for their loved ones. We are pleased that APFM will continue to benefit from his knowledge of the business and thoughtful insights as an advisor.”

Sean Kell said, “It has been a privilege to lead APFM for the past eight years, and I am proud of the great work our team has done for families across North America. I look forward to assisting Larry and the Board during this transition and am confident APFM will continue to thrive for many years to come.”
