Barclay Friends Kicks Off New Memory Care Expansion with Wall-Breaking Ceremony

WEST CHESTER, PA — Barclay Friends, a Kendal Affiliate, recently marked the beginning of renovations of its memory care residences with a ceremonial wall-breaking at the community. The project involves a significant expansion of the senior-living community’s memory-care residences, allowing Barclay Friends to welcome new residents and continue to create a positive impact on the local aging population.

The Barclay Friends memory-care expansion will introduce brand-new, state-of-the-art residences, specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of those with memory impairments. The new residences will feature cutting-edge amenities tailored to promote comfort, safety, and cognitive engagement. This exciting development represents a milestone in Barclay Friends’ commitment to providing enhanced care and support for individuals living with memory-related conditions.

“With this expansion, we will be able to offer residential care opportunities for twice as many older adults who have dementia as we are able to today,” shared Barclay Friends’ Board Chair Ellen Gilbert in a press release. “We are focused on creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment, to serve the growing demand within the community.”

Through this expansion, Barclay Friends’ offerings will expand to include specialized programs and activities to support residents’ mental and emotional wellbeing.
