REDMOND, WA — Emerald Heights, a member of Emerald Communities in Washington, has announced in a press release that its Wellness Program Manager, Alexandra Clark, has been named the 2024 “Activity Director of the Year” by the Washington State Association of Activity Professionals.
Clark, who has worked at Emerald Heights since 2017, has been instrumental in developing programs to promote physical and mental wellbeing for its residents in assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and independent living. She has been an active participant in WSAAP since 2019.
She has spent nearly 15 years working in activities, and in her current role at Emerald Heights Clark oversees all trips and events, life enrichment activities, and the fitness department.
“Alex has the remarkable ability to create a welcoming environment where residents feel seen and heard,” said Grant Linacre, executive director of Emerald Heights. “Alex has proven to be an invaluable member of our team, consistently demonstrating a level of dedication and expertise that significantly enhances the lives of our residents while implementing new programs. She is well deserving of this prestigious award.”
“Receiving the Activity Director of the Year title from an association of people I highly respect and network with regularly is a great honor,” Clark said. “Working in this industry is rewarding and requires a nimble and empathetic brain daily. I hope I live up to that level of care and compassion for everyone I encounter each day.”
