Emerald Heights’ Wellness Program Manager Named WSAAP Activity Director of the Year

Alexandraclark 1024REDMOND, WA — Emerald Heights, a member of Emerald Communities in Washington, has announced in a press release that its Wellness Program Manager, Alexandra Clark, has been named the 2024 “Activity Director of the Year” by the Washington State Association of Activity Professionals.

Clark, who has worked at Emerald Heights since 2017, has been instrumental in developing programs to promote physical and mental wellbeing for its residents in assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and independent living. She has been an active participant in WSAAP since 2019.

She has spent nearly 15 years working in activities, and in her current role at Emerald Heights Clark oversees all trips and events, life enrichment activities, and the fitness department.

“Alex has the remarkable ability to create a welcoming environment where residents feel seen and heard,” said Grant Linacre, executive director of Emerald Heights. “Alex has proven to be an invaluable member of our team, consistently demonstrating a level of dedication and expertise that significantly enhances the lives of our residents while implementing new programs. She is well deserving of this prestigious award.”

WSAAP was established in 1965 to foster and maintain the highest standards of excellence in activities while training and to educate those in the profession. WSAAP offers education, accreditation, resources, and networking events to its members.

Emerald Communities serves seniors at its resort-style life plan communities in the Seattle-area cities of Redmond (Emerald Heights) and Gig Harbor (Heron’s Key). Emerald Heights is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) senior housing and services organization. The community is a Type A life care community that accommodates residents’ changing needs throughout the aging process. It is an amenity-rich and resort-style senior living community, with an onsite healthcare center providing assisted living, memory support, and Medicare-certified skilled nursing care. The community provides residences, amenities, and services to people ages 55 and older.
