Jefferson’s Ferry Promotes Michele Berti to Vice President of Human Resources

S. SETAUKET, NY–Jefferson’s Ferry Life Plan Community recently promoted human resources professional Michele Berti to vice president of human resources. In this role she will continue to lead the not-for-profit community’s efforts to provide the very best service to Jefferson’s Ferry residents with well trained, dedicated and caring staff. Jefferson’s Ferry President and CEO Robert E. Caulfield made the announcement.

“Over her two years at Jefferson’s Ferry, Michele’s leadership has had a significant impact on our HR department and organization as a whole,” said Caulfield. “In addition to successfully navigating the complexities of local, state and federal laws governing employee and labor matters, Michele has played a leading role in recruiting and retaining highly talented, dedicated and compassionate individuals who share Jefferson’s Ferry’s core values and are committed to our vision.”

As vice president, Michele has overall responsibility for human resources activities including recruitment, training, employee development, benefits and compensation. Jefferson’s Ferry employs 350 full and part time employees serving more than 425 residents. Michele joined Jefferson’s Ferry in 2016 as director of human resources. Prior to that, Michele was the assistant director of human resources for United Cerebral Palsy- Suffolk County, where she successfully met the needs of diverse employee groups while insuring that the staffing needs of a 24/7 operation were met.

Michele holds a master of public administration degree from the Michigan State University and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management. She lives in Smithtown with her husband and daughter.  In her spare time, she enjoys visiting Manhattan’s cultural institutions, including Broadway and the ballet.
