Orchard Hill Welcomes Dr. Mouhamad Annous to Medical Team

TOWSON, MD—Orchard Hill Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center has announced the addition of board-certified vascular surgeon and wound care specialist Mouhamad O. Annous, M.D., to its clinical team. Located at 111 West Rd. in Towson, the 134-bed skilled nursing facility provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

Annous’ appointment enhances Orchard Hill’s chronic kidney disease (CKD) management program, which provides on-site hemodialysis and the management of dialysis ports and wound care for nephrology patients. Under the direction of board-certified nephrologist Dr. Kamal Sewaralthahab, the CKD management program aims to preserve patients’ kidney function and prevent further decline through a balance of treatment and education. The facility’s on-site hemodialysis operates in partnership with DaVita kidney care.

“Orchard Hill is the first in the area to incorporate a vascular partnership such as this, continuing to lead the way in introducing progressive skilled nursing services in the Baltimore area,” said Nikki Gachot, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the facility. “Dr. Annous is working closely with Dr. Sewaralthahab—and the dedicated care teams from DaVita and Orchard Hill—to ensure the best possible outcomes for the facility’s nephrology patients.”

A highly respected physician in the Greater Baltimore area for more than 40 years, Annous holds certifications in both general and vascular surgery from the American Board of Surgery. He is affiliated with Premier Vascular Center of Maryland and the major hospital systems in the region, including the University of Maryland Medical System and Johns Hopkins Health System.

Orchard Hill recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation with top-to-bottom upgrades. Its comprehensive offerings also include cardiac care, palliative care and physiatry, as well as pulmonary rehab featuring a full-time respiratory therapist.
