February 12, 2025
BURR RIDGE, IL — King-Bruwaert House, a senior living community in this southwest Chicago suburb, has announced the appointment of Rebecca Mathis as its chief executive officer. She has almost 30 years of experience in leadership roles in healthcare systems throughout the Chicago area. Mathis comes to K-B House as it is looking toward its future.
“We are carefully transitioning to a new dynamic for senior living while maintaining our legacy,” Mathis said in a press release.
K-B House is a CCRC situated on a 35-acre wooded property. Over the past two years, it has added 43 new luxury independent living apartments, a multi-million-dollar expansion of its memory care, and new amenity spaces. The community is presently developing new, expanded, and updated assisted living apartments, and renovating its rental duplexes in nearby Hinsdale. Under Mathis’ leadership, K-B House is also updating its program offerings.
Located in what has been called by Niche.com one of the best places to retire in Illinois, King-Bruwaert House opened in 1933. The campus includes independent living in The Gardens of King-Bruwaert House, new luxury apartment homes and The Woods of King-Bruwaert House cottages. The campus also has access to assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing. Fewer than two miles away in Hinsdale is Godair Park, King-Bruwaert House’s single-story rental duplex homes.
