Michigan Cognitive Recovery Center Completes Renovation for ReCODE+ Residential Program

FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan Cognitive Recovery Center at Lakeshore Woods has completed renovations to its Birch building as it develops a 12-month residential program for people diagnosed with cognitive decline.
The center is offering the ReCODE+ for Facilities Program in partnership with Apollo Health. MCRC said it is the first facility in Michigan and one of two in the United States to offer the residential program.
The renovated Birch building includes 20 private suites, communal areas, a fitness center, sauna and outdoor spaces. MCRC said the building is designed to support individualized care plans that incorporate nutrition, sleep, cognitive training, exercise and other lifestyle interventions.
Apollo Health developed ReCODE+, which uses individualized assessments and biomarker testing to identify factors the program associates with cognitive decline. Residents receive individualized plans and ongoing support during the 12-month program.
MCRC will hold an opening event at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 16 that will include remarks from owner Steven Larsen and remarks from Dr. Dale Bredesen, creator of the ReCODE+ program and chief scientific officer at Apollo Health, who will join virtually. Those in attendance can join informational sessions and tours.
Michigan Cognitive Recovery Center operates within Lakeshore Woods Senior Living, which has served Michigan’s Blue Water region for more than 30 years. MCRC provides residential cognitive care for people with mild cognitive impairment through early-stage dementia.
