Legend of Colorado Springs Offers Live Tours of it’s Assisted Living Residence as it Nears Completion

August 25, 2020

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – With a view featuring Pikes Peak and senior living featuring the latest developments in assistive design and care, Legend of Colorado Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care, a Legend Senior Living® residence, is close to opening its doors for operation. In anticipation, the residence will offer scheduled private tours while the finishing touches are put on the construction. Tours will be conducted with all precautionary protocols and distancing observed.

“We’re so excited to bring this new concept in senior living to Colorado Springs,” said Residence Director Karen Stewart. “The day we’ve been waiting for is about to arrive, with some final construction going on in parts of the building. It’s time that interested seniors and their families got a complete tour, now that we can show all the completed major areas, along with a selection of finished apartments.”

Stewart emphasized that Legend is accepting residents starting now for immediate move-in upon its opening. one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments in various configurations are available.

“We’ll have many choices available, but because we’ll be taking move-ins immediately, choosing now is important to getting the first choice of apartment floor plan and location.”

Located in the Briargate neighborhood and next to Focus on the Family, Legend of Colorado Springs will make the most of the surrounding Rockies. Some apartments provide a stunning view of the Aspens. Shopping and dining options and the region’s major medical facilities are just minutes away.

“Our innovative, purposeful architecture and interior design will bring a fresh approach to vibrant senior living, and at the same time make assisted living and navigation easy,” said Stewart. “Every detail in our design is to maximize the resident’s independence.” The halls are wider to so residents can move at their own pace. Over twenty colors are used to provide contrast and help with the senior’s sense of colors. An abundance of natural light fills the residence for easier navigation.

“And that’s just the very important physical distinction of Legend. Our most significant difference is in our life engagement and individualized care.”

The early tours, said Stewart, will also feature the core of the Legend Senior Living approach to assisted living and memory, which emphasizes independence, dignity and a purposeful life. While interested seniors and their families tour the restaurant-style dining room, bistro, the exercise and activity spaces, carefully landscaped grounds and enclosed courtyard, they’ll know the purpose behind every choice the experienced Legend designers have made.

“This marvelous building is created to support community, socialization, life enrichment and the most advanced programming in today’s memory care,” said the new Residence Director. “Senior care is our first and foremost priority. As our mission states it, to serve the whole person, physically, mentally and spiritually. So, the whole design really starts there. We talk as much about Life Enrichment programs, compassionate professional care and the vital role community plays in prolonging a quality life and enhancing memory function for those with dementia as we do the living space.”

The Legend of Colorado Springs Welcome Center at 2435 Research Parkway, Suite 205 has been open since late spring 2020. For a full private tour, seniors and their families should call (719) 309-0070.
