Michigan Cognitive Recovery Center Launches ReCODE+ Residential Program

FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan Cognitive Recovery Center at Lakeshore Woods has launched its ReCODE+ for Facilities residential program in partnership with Apollo Health and is now accepting clients with cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease.
MCRC marked the program’s launch Sept. 16 with an event that included informational sessions, tours of the center and remarks from program leaders.
MCRC said it is the first facility in Michigan to offer ReCODE+ for Facilities. The 12-month residential program operates from the recently renovated Birch building at Lakeshore Woods Senior Living.
“This mission is deeply personal to us,” said Steve Larsen, owner of MCRC at Lakeshore Woods. “I lost my younger brother to Alzheimer’s in late 2025.”
The Birch building includes 20 private suites, communal areas, a fitness center, sauna and outdoor spaces. MCRC said individualized care plans may incorporate nutrition, sleep, cognitive training, exercise and other lifestyle interventions.
Apollo Health developed ReCODE+, which uses individualized assessments and biomarker testing to identify factors the program associates with cognitive decline. MCRC said residents receive individualized plans and ongoing support during the 12-month program.
Michigan Cognitive Recovery Center operates within Lakeshore Woods Senior Living, which has served Michigan’s Blue Water region for more than 30 years. MCRC provides residential cognitive care for people with mild cognitive impairment through early-stage dementia.
