Oakmont of Chino Hills Celebrates Life and Love
April 8, 2020
CHINO HILLS, CA–As the coronavirus continues to alter plans for many businesses and individuals, some people are being creative to make things happen. One California couple was determined to get married.
Katelyn Ben Robinson Leviton and Joshua Paul Torchia had planned a traditional wedding in Long Beach, CA, for June. Once the Los Angeles County registrar closed down, they had no way to be married there, since they still needed their marriage license.
They contacted a service that handles such matters throughout the USA, usually for the military; and although neither is in the military, they were able to get their marriage license.
They were married last Saturday afternoon, April 4, at 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Oakmont of Chino Hills in Chino Hills, CA.
Oakmont is an assisted living community where Kate’s grandmother resides. Her grandmother, Sue Robinson, came out on her balcony so she could see the service. The bride’s twin sister officiated.
The couple was accompanied by the bride’s mother, stepfather, and stepbrother, as well as her grandmother on the balcony.
Kate’s older sister, Becky Leviton, FaceTimed so she could watch from San Francisco.
The groom was accompanied by both of his parents. The guests and even the officiant stayed at least six feet apart, but the happy couple did not—flaunting the law for the sake of love.
Congratulations to the happy couple, and thanks, Oakmont of Chino Hills, for sharing this love story.
