Oakmont Senior Living Names Ted Burgess Executive Director of Oakmont at Camarillo
April 17, 2019
WINDSOR, CA–Ted Burgess has joined Oakmont Senior Living as executive director of Oakmont of Camarillo. Burgess is a longtime senior living executive who has a passion for caring for seniors. Oakmont of Camarillo is set to open in winter 2019.
He started working in senior living as a volunteer choir director at a retirement community. This experience taught him how to enjoy life and embrace retirement, and it ultimately inspired his long career and dedication to improving the lives of seniors.
With his experience, Burgess could have selected to work for any senior living company. When asked why he chose Oakmont Senior Living, he said, “Oakmont has a strong reputation and is known for providing premium living accommodations and the highest standards of care. This is a company that is committed to exceeding the expectations of residents and their families. I am proud to be a part of this team.”
Burgess said his primary goal is to deliver a comprehensive experience for his residents, from custom built homes to gourmet dining and meaningful social activities. He appreciates the opportunity to serve as a resource to families, so that they can make informed decisions for their loved ones.
When Ted is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two very active 6- and 8-year-old grandsons. Since his time singing with seniors 35 years ago, he is still an active musician, playing several instruments and singing. As a lifelong learner, he believes that active engagement and learning are the keys to a happy life, regardless of age.
